Ave Maria hosted their annual cocktail party where you can bid on about 50 different items. They items can be anywhere from lunch with a certain professor, a free pass from not being called on in class, a flat screen TV and even a round of golf for four that's worth about $600. Yes, Doug and Brett did bid on a couple of the golf packages and won the round for four people @ Pelican Bay for a total of $120. Needless to say they are pumped. Sam came out on top too with an ice cream maker for $15.We had a fun night eating and hanging out. They served pizza and other delicious food and the DJ had the two little girls {Paisley and Baya} dancing their heart out. When the DJ played "Love Song" by Selena Gomez, Paisley went wild. The place was decorated with a ton of balloons but the girls had better plans for them. They played and danced with them and let about 10 go in the air that night. It was a lot of fun and I'm glad Doug gets to go golf!

Sooo Cute!!!
Like usual we got some more hand me downs from my sister. This little leotard used to be Madi's. When I got it out and put it on Paisley she loved it. Not to mention Doug and I were throwing a fit over how cute she looked. I couldn't help but snap a million pictures. I love how it shows every little curve of her body! :)
Celebrating Valentines Day
Between Valentines being in the middle of the week, Doug's first draft of his memo due and the stress of trying to find a ticket to head home for my Grandma's funeral, there was little time, let alone energy, to celebrate Valentines day together as a family. So.....Saturday came around and we headed to Fort Myers where we went to, The Mirimar Outlets, Hobby Lobby {and did a little early birthday shopping for Paisley} and ate at Texas Roadhouse! Doug's parents sent Paisley some cute Valentines shoes and us $$ to go to dinner. We had a blast!

Best Pals
Paisley and Baya are so funny when they play. Some days it's perfect and other days it's touch and go but it's a lot better than when they were first friends. They really do love each other and have so much fun together. Especially when there are no toys and they just have each other to run around with. My mom just laughs that she is this old and has a little friend she plays with. She wanted me to take some pictures of them playing so she could see! :)
They girls + Ever watching a movie on the couch
Happy Valentines
Crystal and her kiddos invited us over for Valentines Day to decorate cookies. The kids got to play and exchange valentines and us adults were able to socialize! We had so much fun! We are so blessed to have such great friends here in Florida.

A day I will never forget! It was Grandma Shaheen's birthday and I called to wish her a Happy Birthday. For a few days I had been wanting to call her but kept putting it off, putting it off! Her birthday rolls around and so I finally call but every time I try the phone is busy. I figured she had a lot of phone calls and she must be talking to someone for awhile. A little while later I get a mass text from my mom saying that Grandma had a stroke and is on her way to the hospital. My dad got a sub for school and took off to see her. A little while later we find out that she is unconscious and my uncle Larry and Aunt Dixie are wondering if they should put her on life support until my dad gets there. My dad decides that they should just let nature take its course and he'll hurry! I took a trip to Costco with my friend and when she arrives I'm on the
phone with Doug and she see's me crying so I fill her in a little. Not much later I leave my Costco shopping trip to find a bunch of texts so without reading them I call my mom. She tells me grandma passed away. My dad did not make it in time! He is so strong and just asked that we all be happy for Grandma. What a better birthday gift than to reunite with your husband, parents and siblings! :)
It all happened so quick. Apparently when my cousin Aspen had tried calling her my grandma was having a hard time talking and then my Uncle Larry had tried and tried calling but when he couldn't reach her he decided to go check on her. He had to break a window to get in. I don't know much of what all happened but I know my heart was broken. I'm sad I didn't call her sooner but I'm grateful I was able to spend some time with her during Christmas. That is a fun memory I will never forget. It was just Doug, Paisley, Grandma and me and it was so much fun!
After trying to find a decent flight home I finally gave up. My parents were willing to do whatever they had to but it just got too hard. I was emotionally and mentally exhausted. The flights were getting expensive and the layovers were ridiculous. I would either fly through the night, have five hour layovers or pay a lot of money. It was just wearing me out thinking of doing it alone. I was so sad to miss the funeral but I will always hold grandma close in my heartr. I love you Grandma and like Nikki and Mandi put it....thank you for giving us the greatest gift of all.....our Dad! He is the most amazing man and father we know and could ever ask for.
