Doug finished his finals on the 11th and we had the rest of the day and all of the 12th to get ready for our vacation. We had a BBQ with our friends {Adam, Crystal & kids along with Scott and Katie} and got all packed up. We left the next morning pretty early on he 13th. Adam took us to the Fort Myers airport which is about 30 miles north and we had to be there for our flight at 8:00 am. He was so sweet to wake up early to take us.
Paisley and me sitting in the airport waiting to board the plane. We were so excited!
Dad sitting with Paisley taking it all in!
Paisley watching the airplanes and workers out the window!
On her back is the police sticker the TSA's gave her
Someone thought that was her own seat! Move over sista!
Paisley loved watching out the window with Dad! I just wish she could really have understood what was happening. We were flying!
When we flew in to Salt Lake, Grandpa Dean and Grandma Deb were there to pick us up! We went to Aunt Devyn's, ate Cafe Rio {which I made Doug promise me we could eat it at least once while we were in Utah} and then hit Costco before driving back to Delta. This is Paisley and little Skylar at Costco! They were perfect and matching! Paisley and Brylee with Grandma at the house! These 2 are hilarious! Brylee can hold her own and if she hugs Paisley too long Paisley will just cry! In a year they will be running around wild together and we won't know where they are but for now they are still figuring each other out!
Paisley in her Pickle shirt ready for bed. My mom wanted a picture so this is what I sent her!
Paisley at the grocery store riding the mechanical horse that went for hours on . 50 cents. She loved it even though she started falling off.
Grandma, Brylee and Paisley again
Paisley and little Connor got along so well. He was very protective of her and she obviously adored him. This was the two of them sitting on the couch while Connor played the Ipad.
Paisley ready for church
She ate the little orange clementines throughout the break constantly and loved them.
The 2 buddies again {Paisley and Connor}
Once we heard the piano all of a sudden. Doug and I walked into the room to find that Paisley had climbed up the bench and was sitting there perfectly like a real pianist. We got such a kick out of it. The rest of the break when we would hear the piano chiming we would just start laughing. There she goes again!
While we were in Delta we took a trip to Salina to see Grandma Shaheen. It was so much fun. We loaded her in the truck and went to eat and Mom's Cafe. We all had our food, pie and then took off to see Grandpa's grave. It was such a fun day spent laughing and reminiscing. We tried to buy her lunch but she insisted on getting it. So we made a deal- next time we come she has to let us buy it. When we left she said that next time we come she'll have a chicken in the pot. We laughed! She was talking about the President who promised a chicken in every pot. We thought and thought about which president it was! Days later we discovered President Hoover. We love it and joke about it now. Grandma looked so good and it was a day I wouldn't trade for the world!
This is Paisley on the way to Grandma Shaheen's house!
Paisley and me at Grandpas grave! I am so sad we didn't get a picture with Grandma! :( Next time!Back in Delta at the store. Grandpa Dean took Paisley to the store and she got to have her very own cart. It was just the 2 of them so he got the whole thing on video. Everyone was dying over her in the store. Every time we went back she knew just what she wanted! :) When she sees a camera she knows to say, "Cheese!"
My mom wanted another picture of Paisley so here is what she got this time!
FRITZ!
Paisley washing the coffee table
"Cheese!"
Paisley eating the chicken sandwiches! She was going to town!
Grandpa Dean took us sledding behind the house in the schoolyard and Paisley love it! It was really cold!
Pais and her #1 Fan- Dad!
She obviously got a hold of my phone!
We didn't take as many pictures in St. George but this is a picture of Paisley playing with the dog cage and her dolls. She tried to get the dog in it but he wouldn't come so she went with the dolls instead. I love this picture of her with her boots on but no pants! :)Doug and his Dad took a trip down to Vegas and watched the Boise State vs. Washington game. Doug's mission companion Michael Ames is their senior right tackle. We watched them last year but this year I decided to stay home with Pais. I would have loved to gone but it was good that Doug and his dad had a little outing!
This is the awesome decked out house in St. George! There was music, bubbles, a big screen and some serious traffic. I think the theme was Phineas and Ferb?! People even got out to walk around the house. The owners were even directing traffic.
Paisley's couch on Christmas morning. I forgot to put a couple things out! Whoops!
Random Hair shot! One pigtail left for the day!
We had a great time in St. George. My mom's birthday was on the 20th but we didn't get there unitl the 21st. We spent lots of time with my family. Christmas was great with Grandma Marcia and Grandpa Bruce, Aunt Kari, Uncle Buck and the Jensen clan {who was up at the house ready to watch us do Christmas by the time we were awake}. Over the break in St. George we got Paisley off of milk which was awesome but hard at the same time. Bo and Marianne along with their kids came the 28th along with the Brown Clan. On the morning of the 29th Doug and I headed to the St. George Temple where we met up with his family to do Dani's temple work. What a neat experience. Doug and I were asked to be the witness couple which we thought was so special and neat. Granted we did have to give it up twice all while watching 3 different sessions go through while waiting for the family :) but the third time was a charm and we finally did it. After the temple we rushed home to go take family pictures with my family. The next morning we had breakfast at IHOP with Doug's family and got our Fowles Family picture {below} even though Brylee must have been asleep in the car and my eyes are closed. Dang it! Anyways... time continued to fly and we had a fun New Years Eve Party at Dani's house. I did get a little emotional to think of leaving but it ended up a great night! Paisley however got sick with a bad cold! She had a fever, runny nose, cough, and eventually goopy eyes.
The Fowles Family
When we got back to Delta on the 1st, we did our Christmas there and we got spoiled once again! This is Paisley in her new pajamas. She looked so tall and thin. We loved her in these pj's.
She threw a little fit but it was too cute in her pajamas so naturally I took a picture!
Paisley and I fell asleep after our pizza while watching the Jazz game with Dad, Grandma and Grandpa. Grandpa Dean got the picture and I'm so happy. I love these pictures of us sleeping. Someone, somehow, always seems to take them!
Me and my best little friend Pickle!
The day before we flew home Paisley was not getting any better. Her eyes were goopy and she just cried and cried. Finally Grandpa took her to the doctor with us and she was quite sick with an ear infection and all. We had her on Motrin but it wasn't cutting it. The doctor put her on some anitbiotics and the flight home on the 5th went better than we could ask for, thank heavens. She slept both flights home. Adam picked us up at the airport and we were home by 11:00 on January 5th! What a trip!
